- Perform maintenance and repair on customer vehicles.

- Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation.
- Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors and other parts.
- Inspect and test electrical or electronic systems to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections and testing instruments such as oscilloscopes and voltmeters.
- Test performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, or bridges.
- Align, fit, or assemble component parts, using hand or power tools, fixtures, or templates.
- Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on vehicles.
- Align front ends and suspension systems.
- Specialize in repairing and maintaining parts of the engine, such as fuel injection systems.
- Disassemble and overhaul internal combustion engines, pumps, generators, transmissions, clutches, and differential units.
- Diagnose and repair vehicles.
- Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
- Attach test instruments to equipment, and read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunctions.
- Supervise or train team members as necessary.
- Administer automobile maintenance.
- Direct, review, and approve auto repair changes.
- Maintain project logbook records or computer program files.
- Arrange for the disposal of lead, asbestos, or other hazardous materials.
- Develop work plans, including writing specifications or establishing material, manpower
