Professional Summary

Engineering research and its applications in corrosion has always been my passion. I wanted to be a part of this, right from my childhood. I believe, a PhD in material science in general and corrosion in particular could mould the future by giving new ideas impacting the progress and development of smart materials. I wish to apply for a PhD position in the department of mechanical engineering with specialization in the field of corrosion and its dependence to pH, CO2, salinity and pressure through experimentation, numerical methods and computational modelling. I am fully aware that a PhD scholar requires a high level of intelligence, unwavering dedication and a lot of sacrifice which I am whole heartedly ready to perform.

Employment history

Research Assistant, Predovic and Sons. East Reyberg, New Jersey
Jan. 2020 – Present
Currently, I am working on a sponsored research project on the topic “Multiphase flow corrosion”.  I designed a flow loop and a optic fiber sensor for multi phase  studies to determine corrosion in pipelines under different pH, CO2 concentration and salinity levels. Successfully made a new sensor (to be patented) which can measure real time corrosion rate using Tafel plots and LPR measurements.

Research Assistant, Blanda, Lehner and Blick. South Rodrick, Massachusetts
Jan. 2017 – Jul. 2017
Work experience as research assistant in the materials lab for two years. The only full time research assistant for the project funded by Strata to evaluate the tool wear in cutting tools used for machining CFRP in aerospace applications. I was in charge of CNC machining and measurements using various devices which includes but not limited to infrared camera, surface profile meter, surface roughness tester, accelerometer, dynamometer, power cell, optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. Apart from experimentation, numerical method analysis and computational mechanics using regression modelling was also a part of my thesis. I was able to propose a new tool life equation taking account of the structural integrity of the cutting tools and by incorporating mechanical modelling and optimization in machining. The research was able to successfully reduce the cost of machining CFRP using poly crystalline diamond cutters by 20% which was greatly appreciated by the institute and the project sponsor.

Lab faculty, Hickle-Carter. New Kendall, Arkansas
Dec. 2014 – Jun. 2015
The job responsibilities included training students for competitive exams, demonstrating various lab equipments and explaining lab safety measures. Experiments using diodes, transistors , generators, motors, magnet, prisms, mirrors and lens was also included in the scope of work.

Research Fellow, Kemmer-Dickinson. Lake Rubenchester, North Carolina
