I went to Saint Roberts Maintenance Shed to spray herbicide. I took Cuba’s herbicide truck. I worked with two other people while I was up there. All I had to do was coordinate what roads to spray. I had to take into consideration weather conditions, temperature and property owners. We kept a log book of material used, location, weather, time, wind, and temperature.
I lead the Broom Crew for the chip seal job in Drake. There were two people from Steelville and two people from Drake that helped with this job. I had to coordinate which roads to broom and how early we needed to get there before the chip machine. We always had to stay one step ahead of the chip machine. I had to make sure that we had people to help through the week and weekends. If we were shorthanded I would try and cover it with someone else. I would relay all information to, Brian McMillan, who was in charge of the Chip Seal Operation.
I lead a crew for a driveway pipe replacement, dipping a ditch, and cutting down an Oak tree on the right of way. I had to call Cuba Shed to get two more people to help. I had two people flagging, one person hauling rock out, another truck hauling dirt in, and a person operating a backhoe. At lunch I asked if anybody felt comfortable helping with cutting down a tree. One of the flaggers volunteered, so we rotated flaggers and finished the job.
My supervisor, Brian McMillan, asked me to lead a pull paving operation. We had two trucks from Potosi and three trucks from Cuba. I had to coordinate with Cuba Shed to find out who they would be sending to help. I had two people from Steelville flagging and one person driving a dump truck. Cuba provided one person for the roller, one person for the distributor, laborer, and one person to be on the box. I had to coordinate with the asphalt plant on how many loads we would use. Then I had to make sure that the people from Potosi and Cuba made it back to their shed in time to get off of work.
I lead the Broom Crew for the chip seal job in Cuba, Steelville, and Potosi. We had two people from Steelville and one from Cuba. I had to coordinate which roads to broom. We had to stay one step ahead of the stripers. I had to coordinate the transportation of the brooms from one job to the next. I had to make sure we had people to work the weekends. I would relay all the information to Jason Basham, who was in charge of the Chip Seal Operation.
