• Handle and manage procedure accessory equipment, including control of the handle end of endoscopic biopsy forceps, polyp snares, endoscopic clips, and retrieval nets/graspers.

• Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures.
• Assist physicians during GI procedures such as ERCP; handling guide wires, sphincterotomes, and other cannulation devices, EUS; fine needle aspiration, EGD/Colon; biopsy, polyp removal,
• Position or transport patients in accordance with instructions from medical personnel.
• Properly position patients pre- and intra- procedure including airway support via head positioning and oropharyngeal suctioning.

• Clean, disinfect, or calibrate scopes or other endoscopic instruments according to manufacturer recommendations and facility standards.

• Assist physicians or registered nurses in the conduct of endoscopic procedures.
• Prepare suites or rooms according to endoscopic procedure requirements.
• Place devices, such as blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeter sensors, nasal cannulas, surgical cautery pads, and cardiac monitoring electrodes, on patients to monitor vital signs.
• Attend in-service training to validate or refresh basic professional skills.

• Identify correct anatomical and proportional point locations based on patients’ anatomy and positions, contraindications, and precautions related to treatments such as both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, as well as pre-op and post-op patient care.
• Treat patients using appropriate endoscopic instruments and equipment.
• Specimen collection, labeling and delivery.
