In previous summers, I would work as an overnight camp counselor. I would spend weeks at a time with fourteen to sixteen kids from ages 6 to 15 in a cabin. My priorities were to keep everyone safe, challenge each camper to be their best self, and for each camper to try something new. I helped to facilitate activities, keep the peace as an adult figure, and aid in growing and developing friendships between campers.

In addition to regular 9 AM Sunday services, the worship band would meet for two-hour rehearsals on Thursday. Called twice a week with additional performances during season of advent and easter. I provided vocal accompaniment or vocal lead in worship music with a small worship band (six to eight people). I would also play drum-set occasionally.

Volunteer at local Middle School teaching girls the basic elements of coding. Conducts lessons to help inform and motivate young girls to continue pursuing a career in STEM. 

Reorganize forwarding addresses for previous employees. Meet and greet customers, and organize and retrieve mail. 

Prepare and execute activities for different age groups. Keep a continual line of communication with parents about children’s learning, health and enjoyment. Adapt to scheduling and staff changes, adjusting day to day to new responsibilities.

Camp Chestnut Lake was an overnight camp. As a general counselor I was responsible for traveling to each activity throughout the day with all 40 of our 11 year old girls. I would be responsible for making sure they had good hygiene, good night sleep, and running them to the nurse if they needed it, ect. I received counselor of the week, the first week of camp, out of 100 counselors. I was also chosen to give tours to kids that may be coming the next summer. Lastly, I was chosen to do discovery camp which is a weekend for kids who might want to come next year. They chose 4 girls and 4 guys out of the 100 counselors who they felt would be a great face to represent Chestnut Lake Camp. 

I was a camp counselor at the Brecksville Recreation Center day camp for 2 summers. 6 counselors and I were responsible for the safety and well being of 50 boys and girls, age ranging from 6-12. I would lead and participate in games and arts and crafts. On trip days I was responsible for 10 campers by myself. Examples would be the zoo, college baseball game, water park, and other places that had large amounts of people. For this job I had to be creative, innovative, and selfless.

Fussy Cleaners is a chain dry cleaners. I was responsible for working the cash register, taking in peoples orders, and then proceeding to separate their clothes to be correctly washed. I was constantly using technology to scan their clothing and keep record of how it was being washed. I was responsible for closing/locking up the store. During that time I had to count the cash register drawer and provide an invoice. Sometimes I had to deal with angry customers, I would remain calm and professional then figure out a solution to their problem.

Part-time job while at home for breaks as a gymnastics instructor for children under the age of 13.

As the Camp Counselor I was responsible for planning, leading, and implementing core and non-core programs and experiences for children. I was also responsible for the general safety and development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in my group. Being a camp counselor helps you be a quick-learner and an active employee. You have to be an energetic and accountable Camp Counselor to provide a safe and memorable experience for the campers.

My responsibility as an Assistant Camp Counselor was to support the lead camp counselors throughout the daily camp activities based on the Montessori teaching and learning philosophies. I had to help maintain a clean environment in order for the campers to have general safety. 

As a camp counselor, I coordinated activities and supervised kids throughout the day. Through these activities, I learned how to manage my time, grew a better understanding of how to stay patient, and how to keep the kids creatively engaged.

At Vector, I organized sales appointments, demonstrated the products to customers, and recorded the details of all sales I made.  While performing these duties, I gained experience in sales and how to handle and speak with customers.

The typical functions of a restaurant busser were performed while working at the Cherry Tomato:  cleaning, clearing tables, running food, and doing dishes.  This job entailed juggling a heavy work load and dealing with anxious customers.  The most significant skills gained through this work experience were customer service and work ethic.
