Professional Summary

I have been working in coffee for over 5 years, and in those 5 years have grown a real passion for it.

I am currently working for Dessert Oasis in Rochester, but recently moved to Detroit. And while my main reason for leaving is because of the now long drive, I’m also excited to start working down here and learning more about coffee and gaining more experience as a barista in a new setting with different standards.

I’m very hardworking, passionate about cleanliness, and really enjoy talking with customers and making them a drink that truly makes their day better.

Employment history

Barista, Pollich-Bauch. Schinnershire, Rhode Island
Nov. 2019 – Present
At Dessert Oasis I have mostly worked on bar, making drinks quickly and efficiently, while maintaining a high standard of quality, both in taste, and latte art presentation.

I also have taken on leadership roles, such as closing the store at the end of the night, being the lead barista on many shifts, making change for the cash drawer, helping to train other baristas, as well as many cleaning and upkeep projects.

I have also learned a lot about the small details that go into coffee/espresso roasting and preparing, and the differences in each region of bean, as well as the processes each of them go through to affect flavor.  (and I learned how to make a mean crepe!)

Food and Beverage Manager, Beier, Pfannerstill and Mosciski. Port Ashlyfort, New York
Apr. 2017 – Aug. 2017
At the Detroit Renaissance Center, I managed the licensed Starbucks store in the hotel. This is one of the highest volume Starbucks in Michigan, making over a million each year.

As manager I was responsible for ordering product, budgeting, making schedules, hiring and training baristas, managing a bank of $2000 as well as overseeing all of my barista’s individual banks, teaching the Black Apron Coffee Master Program (as well as completing this myself), presenting coffee tasting events to executives, planning out marketing strategies, and creating and running their social media presence. Also, when the situation arrived that I was the only Food and Beverage Manager on duty, I was responsible for all the restaurants and bars in the hotel.

In addition to my many responsibilities as manager, I was often on the floor making drinks for customers, establishing good customer relations, and helping guests with any questions they had about the hotel and Downtown Detroit.

Here I learned a lot of my leadership skills and what it takes to run a high volume operation, while staying in accordance to both Starbucks’ and Marriott’s quality and hospitality standards.

Barista, Dicki-Haley. New Salvador, New Mexico
Aug. 2015 – May. 2016
Starbucks Corporate was the first job I worked in coffee, and where I fell in love with coffee and drink crafting.

This store was a standalone drive-thru store, and was the highest volume Starbucks in Michigan when it came to food and pastry sales.

Working at this store taught me how to work at a very fast pace, without getting stressed out, while maintaining high drink quality standards. Also, it taught me how to work an espresso machine, distinguish subtle tasting notes within different blends and roasts of coffees, pour-overs, prepare food and pastry items, and how to deep clean a store.

Professional Summary

Whilst I have not worked in a Front Office/Receptionist job before I do believe I have great skills that make me the best candidate for this position. I am a very fast learner and would be willing to do a course or any extra training for this role, if need be. I am motivated and equipped with knowledge of computers, both Mac and Windows, and I have excellent communication skills. I love being around people, especially working with people. Team work is important to me as it gets a job done, however independence and self-reliance are important in a workplace too. I believe I am versatile enough to work well in a team and independently too. From previous jobs I have learnt very well to work under pressure and to think ahead ensuring the work I do is to a quick and high standard. I am a very motivated person, I love to get things done and done the right way. I do believe that each of these skills I uphold would make me a great fit for this role.

Employment history

Jul. 2019 – Present
Schillerstad, Kansas
Barista, Runolfsdottir Group

I have been working as a Barista at Jelly since July this year and have thoroughly enjoyed working here, bettering my skills in the hospitality industry. It is here that I have learnt to make coffees, bake cakes, make lunches and continue to thrive in delivering good customer service. I have taken on the responsibility of working in the cafe on my own, running the shop for a few days of the week by myself which has taught me to step up and use my initiative with jobs around the cafe.

Mar. 2017 – Apr. 2017
West Jacquelyn, West Virginia
Food and Beverage attendant, Hudson LLC

Prior to working at Jelly I was employed at McDonalds in Victor Harbor. Here I learnt a lot of great skills which were not always just about delivering good customer service. At McDonalds they instill the utmost importance of safety and hygiene which in turn directly affects a company and their customers. When not serving or delivering food, I would be cleaning and ensuring every area in McDonalds met the Health and Food Safety regulations.

Jun. 2014 – Oct. 2015
North Hermanmouth, Nevada
Waitress, Olson, Franecki and Osinski

Working at The Crown was mostly a summer job as this was when their busiest time of the year was and they needed junior staff such as myself. Over the three summers I worked for The Crown I learnt a lot about how to work under pressure and think quickly. The hours were long so it was important to work hard but at a manageable pace. It is here that I learnt how important customer service really is as it was my first job. I was responsible for delivering food to customers and clearing tables quickly and efficiently.
